With approximately $338 billion in assets, BlackRock's US Wealth Advisory business is tasked with distribution and product development through the advisor-intermediated retail channel. BlackRock's Product Marketing group supports the efforts of the US Retail business primarily by leading and implementing marketing efforts to drive sales and retention of BlackRock's diversified product range.
We are looking for an experienced Marketing Director to support the efforts of our growing retail business.
Primary responsibility of the Marketing Director will be the development of comprehensive, long-term sales and marketing campaigns to support the growth of multi-asset funds and the broader family of BlackRock products. The successful candidate will lead marketing and product positioning initiatives from conceptualization to completion, applying proven strategic thinking skills, understanding of marketplace needs and exceptional marketing communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with product management, product specialist, channel marketing and sales teams to develop unique positioning of BlackRock funds by articulating each fund's distinct investment process and competitive advantages, building robust sales stories and ensuring consistent marketing positioning.
- Research, write, edit and coordinate the production of client and financial professional marketing deliverables to support fund campaigns, including new product launches, and to diversify and broaden advisor relationships. This will focus primarily on the development of print collateral, prospecting materials, sales ideas, seminar presentations, web content, video content and email communication.
- Tie fund messaging to marketplace opportunities and changing market cycles.
- Conduct ongoing competitive and big-picture review of marketing and sales tools to enhance BlackRock's leadership position in the marketplace.
- Collaborate with other departments, including the Investment Communications and Value-add Marketing teams, to coordinate the dissemination of related market insight, value-add, educational and product content across sales channels.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS required
- CFA preferred; MBA a plus
- 7+ years of financial services experience, preferably with a focus on mutual fund strategy and mutual fund marketing campaigns in collaboration with sales professionals/sales management
- Strong understanding of intermediary-sold mutual funds and how wholesalers promote mutual funds to financial professionals through story-based selling techniques
- Hands-on player with strong sales orientation; accepts ownership for planning and implementing the tactics necessary to successfully execute strategic objectives
- Working knowledge of investment databases, including Morningstar, FactSet and Bloomberg
- Ability to translate complex portfolio data (such as performance attribution reports) into useable information
- Sense of financial literacy; interest in and understanding of capital markets
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form meaningful working partnerships and demonstrate leadership
- Superior writing and editorial skills
