Responsibilities
You will be working as a paralegal to the Asia Pacific Region to the Litigation/Contentious Regulatory counsel.
Your role will involve:
- Managing and updating the internal litigation database and producing regular and ad hoc litigation reports.
- Working with business partners to ensure litigation risk is understood and reported in filings and by the governance teams in the Bank.
- Managing litigation hold/preservation requests.
- Co-ordinating the collection and preservation of electronic and hard copy documentation, using case management software where applicable, and liaising with external counsel as necessary in relation to information collection.
- Managing litigation destructions as we move to new records management service providers.
- Assisting internal counsel in the use of case management software and databases.
- Working with internal and external counsel to manage information requests/subpoenas/freezing orders and/or third party production orders.
- Managing and tracking legal billings and settlement thereof as appropriate.
- General assistance to Litigation counsel in management and handling of contentious matters.
Requirements
- You will need to have excellent organisational and solution driven skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
- You will also be shown how to use the various internal applications required to carry out your general duties and a standard knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint will be required.
- You will need to have excellent written and spoken English with Chinese (written and oral) (Cantonese Mandarin) a preference.
