Operational Risk Control Design Manager
Overview:
A global bank is seeking a an operational risk design manager to manage process of designing all operational, technical and 3rd party (service management) controls that exist in the BCOO Operating environment for UKC processes. This is a 12 month contract and requires someone start ASAP
Job Duties:
This role is a key part of the Business Assurance Team delivering one of 4 key Governance processes, the Design process:
•Interpretation – to obtain information from internal and external sources and interpret governance and control requirements applicable to BCOO Processes
•Design – to design controls to meet those governance requirements identified through interpretation.
•Implementation – to implement the controls into the control environment
•Embedment – to ensure the controls are embedded correctly into regular operations.
To support the Senior Manager of Governance and Compliance to define and embed a strategy and framework
which ensures that the design of the BCOO control environment is effective to internal and external body requirements.
To support the Senior Manager of Governance and Compliance in ensuring a consistent approach across BCOO and to support in shaping the agenda for the department.
To run the Design Process from the point of acceptance of a design brief from the Process and Control Manager up to the point of hander to the Implementation and Embedment processes run by the Control Implementation managers.
This process involves:
1. Take Design Brief from Process and Control Manager
2. Set up network Control Group if required
3. Design controls in conjunction with Control Group
4. Create measures management information
5. Validate controls with interpret team
6. Engage with BCOO potential controls operators via Control Group
7. Validate controls and operators
8. Test controls
9. Agree implementation plan principles with BCOO operating area including exit criteria
10. Perform the following:
• Create a design pack containing:
• Low level design of controls
• Training materials
• BCOO operating areas operator detail
• implementation plan principles
• exit criteria
• embedment requirements
11. Hand over once the controls are implemented to the Control Team
