Operations -Listed Derivative Operations - Associate
You will help support of the SPG Trading Desk and its clients. The Trading Desk manage inventory across firm positions and provide pricing on synthetics and risk manage the trading books. The client base for SPG is made up of large institutions and hedge funds and the Middle Office team works closely with the Trading Desk and the Prime Brokerage client reps in making sure our clients’ needs are met.
You will be responsible for the timely booking of trades and making sure that the firm’s risk and PL is accurate. Timely resolution to all queries, reconciliation queries, risk management and regular liaison with internal departments on the settlement and reconciliation of all trades are also important components of the role. It is a hands-on role that requires that all team members are fully versed in products and systems used as well as the processes and procedures that must be followed when performing day to day tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Trade management – timely allocation of trades, dealing with trade queries from internal and external clients.
- Reconciliation – trade reconciliation, corporate actions processing and reconciliation, risk reconciliation, PL reconciliation and completion of tasks associated with control around the business.
- Identification of areas for improvement in processes
- Documentation of procedures and process flows to help enhance our controls around the business.
- Daily review of control reports to ensure all trade bookings and risk management is accurate.
- Working with internal clients to ensure that all breaks are resolved - these include external clients, internal trading desks, PB reps, Settlements, Documentation etc.
