Portfolio Administrator
Responsibilities
- provide general desk and fund manager support;
- support the operation of the control framework on the desk;
- monitor daily cash balances
- provide support where appropriate to pre and post trade checks (daily), including logging all appropriate information required for each desk;
- produce data pack for weekly team meetings and similar responsibilities;
- run the broker voting system for the desk;
- assist with, monitor and manage rights issue/corporate actions administration;
- collate information and provide support, manage and respond to cashflows, asset allocations and transitions;
- interact with appropriate support functions (typically fund accounting and transfer agency) to address queries, resolve issues and obtain information;
- to handle queries that require sourcing and provision of fund performance and positioning data;
- provide support for trade entry as required and directed by the deskhead or Fund Managers;
- ensure communication with the dealing desk is strong;
- monitor executions and settlement of trades and ensure that trades are communicated across the team, according to protocol;
- periodic review of client mandates;
- support (under appropriate supervision) trading processes (reviewed by Fund Manager) to raise or invest cash on a routine basis
- aggregate and compile appropriate information on cash flow, trade date and settlement date cash balances, open orders and any other relevant information required by the desk.
- be involved in one off specific projects
- support the COO office on desk related projects
Skills, qualifications, knowledge, and experience required to achieve outputs
- Have a strong interest in Fixed Income OR Equity markets.
- Experience within the financial industry or similar is essential
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook skills.
- Strong administration, organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail/accuracy
