Private Banking Compliance Officer CF10/CF11 recruitment

Our client is one of the oldest and largest firms of private bankers with a large network of International offices. It provides a wide range of asset management and banking services to institutional and private clients worldwide.

The firm is now looking to hire a Compliance Officer in London to join the Private Banking arm of the business and take responsibility for the Compliance Officer (CF10) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (CF11). This individual must have a thorough understanding of the FSA rulebooks, in particular the COBS and CASS rules.

The successful candidate will develop and deliver a risk based Compliance Monitoring Programme covering the UK and acting as a central point of reference and expertise on compliance matters whilst also providing advice proactively on UK financial services compliance matters in connection with both existing and new business proposals (liaising as necessary with the COO).

The individual will also perform the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer, including training for employees, appropriate provision of information to senior management, appropriate measures to ensure the effective control of money laundering risk within the firm's day-to-day operations, including the taking-on of new customers and changes to the firm's business profile.

This individual will also ensure that staff are aware of individual and corporate regulatory requirements and developments, and promote high ethical standards of staff. External, profile raising with trade bodies and in the compliance community is also key.

The successful candidate will be a well-established compliance professional with experience either gained from the Compliance Department of a regulated investment firm in the private banking and/or asset management sector or within a regulatory authority with excellent working knowledge of applicable UK and EU legislation.
