Private Equity Associate
The Role:
The team are now looking for a candidate to join their Global Financing Team. This person will be the Asian team’s expert in structuring of LBO financing here in Hong Kong. They will also be part of the investment team executing deals from origination to exit.
• Lead all aspects of LBO financing, including coordination, due diligence, credit analysis, covenant modeling, negotiating terms and reviewing transaction documentation.
• Coordinate various work streams with investment bankers, outlining and overseeing financial analyses such as comparable trading analyses, comparable transaction analyses, historical trading/valuation analyses, leveraged finance-related items and industry overview analyses
• Conduct work streams with lawyers, including negotiating non-disclosure agreements, calculating change-in-control costs, researching historical management compensation packages and executing transaction closing-related items (management compensation, flow of funds document, etc.)
• Develop industry and company-related research documents with consultants, focusing on historical industry trends, quantitative operational performance, competitor analyses and product penetration analyses
• Perform detailed research on accounting trends with accounting firms, such as historical working capital metrics (days sales outstanding, inventory turns, days payable, etc.), normalization of historical financial performance, historical accounting policies, pensions/other debt-like items and other balance sheet items
• Report research findings to internal Approval and Investment Committees
• Prepare analyses and key findings from work streams with third-party advisors and research meetings with management teams
Requirements:
• 3-5 years experience in LBO financing within a bulge bracket bank
• Excellent credit skills
• Strong modelling
• Experienced negotiator
• Passion for investments
• Must speak Mandarin or Japanese
• Strong financial accounting skills are a plus (CPA,CA, ACA). May have started career with the Big 4.
