Procurement Specialist Duties and Responsibilities: · Plan, coordinate and interact with North American Automotive Supplier and internal departments to achieve on-time delivery of prototype parts for assembly and evaluations · Instruct suppliers in prototype parts procurement, production, inventory, and delivery procedures · Maintain order and delivery schedules for North American-source prototype parts · Negotiate with suppliers on matters relating to prototype procurement, project management and quality · Act as liaison between prototype production departments, designers, suppliers, and shipping/export agents to convey and submit parts to proper specifications and technical instructions from company · Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules and reports · Perform other duties/functions as may be necessary to ensure the successful delivery of materials in support of company?s prototype development, testing, and manufacturing processes. Job Requirements/Qualifications: · High level of interpersonal skills that work effectively with others · Proven negotiation skills. Able to grasp the facts of any given situation · Ability to organize and prioritize work daily, weekly and monthly schedules. Good time management skills · Strong oral and written communication skills · Experience using Internet browsers. Accessing/providing and communicating via websites and email systems · Understands and uses MS Office applications, with emphasis on spreadsheet and word processing · Ability to read, understand and process technical information, following company guidelines · College degree and/or two (2) ? four (4) years experience in purchasing or customer service environment a plus!
