FUNCTION: Working on-site at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Project Coordinatorprovides project management and operational support, performs logistical support for the project's administration activities, and assists in the management of the project's operational plan for the Patient Safety Organization (PSO) Team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides operational and logistical support to AHRQ PSO program, including:
- Assists with the management and preparation of reports.
- Facilitates meeting planning and logistics (determines meeting location and time, set up conference call lines, take and prepare minutes, etc.)
- Establishes direct contact and maintains regular communication with clients (PSOs) and sub-contractors (the PSO Privacy and Protection Center, the Network of Patient Safety Databases, the National Quality Forum, and others) to facilitate the completion of tasks and to meet project goals or deadlines.
- Facilitates the exchange of information and the resolution of issues to ensure that the development team can complete tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Identifies, manages, resolves, and tracks issues as needed.
- Provides logistical support for internal and external project events.
- Supports all planning, reporting, and marketing activities.
- Reviews and researches reports, papers, and other documentation.
- Assists with the preparation of reports, publications and presentations in the required style, software, and format. Prepares charts, tables, and presentations, ensuring that the graphics and content are correct and create proper impact.
- Facilitates testing and validation of technical content.
- Assists in coordination of updates to the AHRQ's PSO Web site.
Required Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills; understanding of research techniques and health care terminology, and an interest in mastering additional subjects are required. Familiarity with Web development and design; advanced word processing skills; advanced computer skills (MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Project, Outlook and Visio); willingness to master additional tools and programs; excellent planning, organizational, and administrative skills, including careful attention to detail; and commitment to meeting deadlines are required.Proactive problem solving and team-building orientation; ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and in teams, and to communicate issues and needs to management and colleagues are required. Required Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; plus at least three years of experience in project operations management or support is required. Education in health care field and/or experience in health care environment preferred.Must have a proven track record of developing successful routines to prioritize and manage large workloads, and ability to track and bring multiple tasks to completion in a dynamic environment.
