Project Manager (Investment Banking)
Main Function:
Based within their Investment Bank. This front office business facing role and will be working closely with MD level traders, legal and compliance stakeholders. Involvement with Dodd Frank and EMIR a plus. Knowledge of MiFID client classification and KYC onboarding processes helpful, but not required.
Main Duties:
A detailed Hands-On Business side Project Manager within a small team of highly experienced senior consulting professionals. Reporting directly to the Programme Manager and expected to be a very proactive hands on detailed project management person who knows how to make things happen and get things done at a rapid pace, with minimal supervison and maximal diplomacy. This is a close knit team who are all willing to do whatever is required to ensure delivery progresses rapidly and occurs on time. There is a strong Team Spirit and everyone is expected to pull their own weight within their areas of specialization. They are NOT looking for strategic programme managers and they are NOT looking for IT Technology project managers. Must be a Detailed High Energy Business Focused Project Manager, preferably with Dodd Frank, EMIR and Investment Banking experience.
Person Requirements:
· This is an intense and demanding Detailed Project Management role with high expectations to do whatever is required to ensure deliveries are on time.
· This role requires a detailed project manager who is skilled with Planning, Excel Planning, High Level Milestone Tracking Charts, organising senior stakeholders and working with complex investment banking derivative products. This is a detailed PM role, NOT a high level strategic programme management role. Looking for the role up your sleeves type of hands on Project Manager who knows how to make things happen.
· Must be able to bring order to chaos, add structure to diverse business requirements, and have excellent stakeholder management skills with legal, compliance and front office trading people.
· Able to gain respect and credibility with senior legal advisors, managing directors and senior investment banking sales professionals as a direct result of being a catalyst to make things happen and facilitate rapid delivery progress. Diplomatic and respectful senior stakeholder skills a must.
· Able to keep risk and issues logs up to date using complex investment banking risk management and derivatives terminology and work in a cooperative and constructive way with a small centralized PMO.
· Delivery Focused – Must have excellent structured thinking ability and be able to bring a variety of complex investment banking topics together into a coherent plan that can be easily understood by senior management. And then ensure the plan gets executed on time.
This Project team sits on the trading floor with the traders, you must be able to work in a fast faced environment and have high energy. The products are Interest Rate derivatives/FX Derivatives, Spot/Forward. Deal with Swap issues.
