Prudential Capital – Operation Analyst recruitment

PruCap generates revenue by providing bridging finance, managing investments and operating securities lending, repo, cash management and derivatives business for the Prudential Group and its clients.

PruCap works closely with other business units across the Group and the Group's banking relationships to exploit opportunities and increase value creation for Prudential as a whole.

PruCap employs 32 people, mostly in London with three people in Singapore. The business is organised into four business lines: Group Treasury, Principal Finance, Wholesale Markets and Derivative Management. Back office, IT and other support functions, including risk analytics and monitoring, are outsourced to internal and external providers.

Opportunity
PruCap is looking to recruit an operations analyst to work in the Business Management Team. The department, which is based in London, has responsibility for supporting all aspects of PruCap's wholesale and capital markets business including, with respect to this role, supporting the dealing desks with all post-trade aspects from trade capture through settlement to accounting and reporting, service supplier management, the facilitation of new business ideas, improvement of existing business practice and supporting traders and deal managers in the initial set-up and on-going management of transactions.

The role will include:
*Offering middle office and operational support across a wide range of financial instruments.

Key responsibilities
*
*Day to day support of trading activity, ensuring:
*Trade instruction where necessary
*Effective deal capture both at outsource providers and for internal monitoring
*Monitoring trade confirmation
*Settlement performance of the various outsource providers
*Query resolution with traders / deal managers, service suppliers and counterparties
*Ensuring internal and outsourced records are aligned.
*Input into initial set up and on-going management of new transactions and products.
*Assist in ensuring appropriate policy, process and procedure documentation is kept up to date.

*Timely resolution of pre and post trade queries.
*Proactive approach to the teams supported.

Person Specification
What we are looking for

*Experience of middle office or operational role in a bank or financial institution.
*Good understanding of financial instruments, settlement and industry best practise.
*Knowledge of money market, treasury and collateral products a particular advantage.
*Experienced in issue / problem management.
*Ability to work reliably without close supervision and used to working in an environment with clearly defined procedures and controls.
*Must have strong numeric skills preferably with a degree in a Maths, Science or Business oriented subject
*PC literate, including MS Word and Excel. Experience of financial market systems preferred.
*Must have a high level of responsibility and an eye for quality.
