QA -Test Automation Engineer -Vancouver recruitment
A successful candidate will be an experienced, methodical software tester with highly developed analytical skills, aptitude and interest in finance, attention to details, ability to work in an informal and dynamic team environment, and have a passion for quality. The required skill set includes Powershell, SQL Server, .NET/C# and Visual Basic and UI automation for IE.
Candidates must have analytical problem solving skills, good communication, and experience in dynamic team environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain test automation solutions for multiple products.
- Design and develop tools and test harnesses to assist QA Engineers
- Provide technical test automation leadership and guidance to team members
- Evaluate tools and training that support test automation efforts
- Effectively document test automation processes and report results
- Champion test automation strategic initiatives
- Maintain the test automation virtual environments
- Attend project meetings and provide technical expertise as required
Required Skills Experience
- 4-5 years QA experience in automation testing
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and the Visual Studio development environment
- Proficiency with Continuous integration and Agile development environments, tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge or work experience with SQL and database concepts
- Knowledge or work experience in finance, treasury or accounting
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Process and procedure oriented and strong attention to detail
- Proven organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Familiarity with Reporting tools
- Knowledge of software development (Visual Basic, VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#) and in-depth web applications knowledge
- In-depth experience using test automation tools
- Bachelors in MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Advantageous:
- Experience with Microsoft TFS (Team Foundation Services)
- High-availability systems experience
- Experience in testing REST, SOAP or other web-based application APIs
- Understanding of SOA and its’ advantages/disadvantages. Experience with SOA, Protocols, Federated Identity, Cryptography and PKI a plus (WS-Trust, WS-Security, WS-Federation)
- Experience with mobile and client-side software
- Experience in multi-language systems and with hosted, redundant distributed, high-availability, clustered and near real-time back-office systems
