Job Purpose/Background: 
 
The candidate will be working in a team environment with the need to work across a number of departments within Blackrock, including Real Estate, Legal Compliance, Tax, Corporate Services and client portfolio management teams.  As such the candidate should be able to fit into a team but also have confidence to ensure legal procedures are followed by the whole team in order to assess and control any potential risks associated with Real Estate.

Knowledge/Experience: 
 
The candidate should be a good communicator, both verbal and written, and be able to explain complex legal issues to a non-legal audience.  They should be able to summarize issues and provide potential solutions in the context of a commercial fund management business.  They should be self-motivated in order to drive forward tasks and be a good anticipator of issues that might arise.  The candidate should be someone who canvasses views of the internal clients before progressing matters.  The candidate must be a qualified English solicitor or equivalent from a similar common law jurisdiction.  .
