My client is a globally renowned investment bank with offices across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Due to the firms overwhelming success in recent years, its continued policy of global expansion, and its desire to seek out the top industry talent to supports these plans, an opportunity has arisen it its main London Headquarters. The position is for a Redhat Linux and-or Solaris Systems Engineer and systems analyst to join the firm and be responsible for supporting, maintaining and engineering the entire infrastructure environment for the bank across front, middle and back office systems. The position will involve supporting production critical systems globally following the sun, and engineering technically diverse solutions in response to daily requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in technology, with Redhat Linux and-or Solaris exposure, alongside good scripting or programming knowledge to degree level and beyond.
Responsibilities for Redhat Linux and-or Solaris Systems Engineer-Analyst-Global Investment Bank:
• Supporting production critical systems globally, following the sun
• Engineering technically diverse solutions in response to daily requests, in addition to large scale engineering projects
• A continuous workflow of improvements and systems development
• Working closely with both front and back office development teams on the design and implementation of infrastructure to support both third party and in-house trading-settlement systems
Skillet for Redhat Linux and-or Solaris Systems Engineer-Analyst-Global Investment Bank:
• Should be a self-starter with a genuine interest in technology
• Good Solaris and-or RedHat Linux engineering exposure - any home Solaris-Linux systems admin a huge plus
• Good scripting-programming to degree level and beyond
• Any engineering experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory a bonus
• Hands on-theoretical TCP-IP networking experience
• Able to work well individually, or as a team, and able to work under pressure
This is a fantastic opportunity for a systems engineer-analyst with Solaris and-or Redhat Linux experience to join the London office of a global investment bank that is undergoing exciting expansion plans. The candidate will collaborate with team members on the ground in London but will also have the opportunity to work with other locations and offices to support their systems and as such there will be the opportunity to travel and work in other locations in the future. The team is very collaborative and so the individual will be expected to contribute their ideas from day one. Compensation will be extremely competitive.
