Regional MLRO ( CF11)
Leadership role heading up the Financial Crime framework across the EMEA Region (CF11) , covering several lines of businesses for one of the known Corporate Investment Bank in London.
The role reports into the Global Head of Financial Crime for the corporate Investment bank based in New York, with a dotted line in to the Group Head of Financial Crime.
As a Regional Head, you will oversee the Corporate Investment banking business’ Financial Crime strategy, managing a multi-jurisdictional foot-print . The role has coverage of the Anti Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions and Anti-Bribery and Corruption ("ABC") areas and is seen as a key strategic role in the wider Group’s efforts to mitigate Financial Crime risk.
Responsibilities:
-Provides businesses and Risk leaders with expert input for AML regulatory policy and strategy development
-Provide specialist regulatory advice on AML, CTF, sanctions compliance and ABC and to assist the overseas AML Compliance Officers, thereby ensuring to the extent possible, consistency of approach on new products, policy and procedures as well as customer due diligence, transactional filtering and monitoring as well as ad hoc transactional matters.
-Promote awareness of applicable regulatory standards, risks and industry best practice across the business and relevant support areas including risk.
-Identify areas where AML, CTF, Sanctions and ABC risk standards can be enhanced and assist in their effective implementation.
-Engage in investigations that may be instigated internally or externally by regulators/other agencies, as well as HR investigations/disciplinary procedures concerning banks staff.
-Represent AML Regulatory Risk in various governance meetings, such as the Governance Control Committees and various business and industry forums.
Skills
-Has an expert understanding of EU and UK money laundering and anti-terrorist financing laws and regulation e.g. AML, Sanctions, ABC including knowledge and understanding of FATF, Wolfsberg Standards
-Has expert knowledge of domestic and global regulatory structures associated with the products, services and the markets in which the bank operates.
-Understanding of key disciplines and impact on the external legislative and regulatory environment, and on business operations
-Strong experience of leading teams ( circa 25 specialist Financial Crime staff), staff appraisals, personnel development.
-Proven ability to think strategically and to translate concepts into effective processes
-Extensive experience of providing AML compliance advisory support acting as a AML compliance function representative to other business areas.
-Must have strong Influencing and conflict resolution skills
