Qualifications:
REGIONAL SALES MANAGER
Manage the sales process of assigned sales region, by developing strategy to exceed the assigned sales volume and gross profit objective. Develop and implement sales tactics in support of the division Strategies and Objectives. Develop and manage assigned sales expense plan for the region. Ability to profitably grow market share, and develop sales professionals, with minimal oversight.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Lead the sales team in operating in a safe and environmentally conscious manner. Provide Preferred Service and Preferred Quality to our customers.
• Provide Leadership for Territory Managers to include: Coaching, Shifting the Performance Curve and Personal Career Development plans for TM’s.
- Continuous ongoing support of Coaching principles to be applied daily
- Continuous and ongoing support of CRM through implementation of Sales Force.com
• Evaluate sales potential in areas and product categories, assess the
competition, pricing levels, new product potential, and market trends, etc. Plus liaison with Marketing, Credit, Customer Service and Manufacturing.
• Collection of overall competitive market intelligence, including trends, and forecasting of individual product categories
• Prepare the annual sales and expense budgets for the region and the individual sales territories.
• Prepare a Sales Execution Plan to exceed the assigned budget:
– Develop overall methods, plans and procedures.
– Manage internal requirements including manpower, travel, training, customer business plans, and call frequency requirements.
– Implement personal internal requirements, including personally calling on large customers, potential large customers, to include architects, insulation contractors, and distributors. Develop an ongoing working relationship with the key decision-makers in each business.
• Manage customer base including key accounts of which are contractors distributors, their goals, our market share goals, product mix, inventory turns, etc.
• Manage the sales team activities to optimize their effectiveness in the field.
• Settle directly as many of the customer issues/conflicts as possible.
• Implement and review sales training for the region.
• Quarterly review each sales rep against stated performance goals and assist in career development, create plan for improvement.
• Conduct quarterly performance SEP reviews with key customers.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor’s Degree, plus position requires integrity, leadership, and initiative. A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in sales management. Must have demonstrated sales coaching success of sales reps selling direct and through distribution channels, success in building relationships, negotiation skills, and consultative selling. Computer proficiency is a must.
