Registered Nurse / Ward Nurse

Hays is working with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to recruit experienced Registered General Nurses at Band 5 level to work with the British Army covering different days, nights and weekend shifts at Pirbright and Headley Court military barracks in Surrey.

Pirbright that houses Alexandra and Elizabeth barrack’s, is the one of the main British Army training centers in the UK. New recruits embark on their military career with the first phase of training preparing them for their different deployments to different units through out the Army.

Headley Court houses the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre. Rehabilitation staff average around 200 per year from all three services' medical and nursing branches. These comprise specialist medical officers, nurses, remedial instructors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, a cognitive therapist, social workers, engineers, and administration support staff. Not only does the centre deal with patients with new physical disabilities but it also deals with patients suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

As a General Nurse you will be responsible for working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering all aspects of patient care and giving support to patients and relatives on your designated ward. You will plan, assess, implement and evaluate patient care independently, maintaining at all times the highest standard of nursing.

You must be highly motivated and be able to work flexibly, either in a team setting or with a high degree of personal initiative.

You must hold full NMC membership and be eligible to work in the UK.
Previous MOD experience would be an advantage
