Role description:
This position is within the Compliance as part of the Regulatory Engagement team, which has responsibility for maintaining elationships with the FSA and other key European regulators, ensuring that necessary filings, notifications and all communications are properly addressed.  This involves working closely with the wider compliance team.
The role would suit an experienced compliance professional with broad regulatory experience and excellent communications skills. Knowledge and understanding of the FSA regulatory environment is expected, experience of dealing with other Regulatory bodies would be an advantage.
This role has been created to build out and enhance the existing function allowing the successful candidate the opportunity to develop the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Management of the close and continuous relationship with the FSA. This includes, ensuring high quality material is prepared and submitted, pro-active follow up and tracking of actions arising from regular meetings with senior  staff, communicating key messages to the senior management as part of the ongoing regulatory communication programme.
Follow up and tracking of issues and queries received from both the FSA and other European regulators as they arise
Liaison with wider Compliance team regarding communications with both European regulators and European offices.
Ensure that all regulatory reporting requirements are identified and are being addressed
Maintenance of regulatory permissions in place in relevant jurisdictions (scope of permission/ regulatory passports/ etc.)
Involvement in project and development work such as branch applications and the re-structuring of regulated entities
Preparing status and regulatory updates, input into Board reports and other management information as required
Liaison with regulators, internal and external counsel, and other external parties
Maybe required to work on other compliance projects and initiatives.
Knowledge/ Experience:
Previous experience within financial services, ideally Asset Management and within Compliance or other control function.
Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to work without close supervision and to meet deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the firm
High standard of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
