Reporting Officer, Major Bank

A qualified accountant is required to form part of the financial management reporting team in the COO's finance area which provides essential services to three operational divisions. Supporting the reconciliations team, this is an excellent opportunity to apply specialist knowledge in a role that requires working alongside key operational teams across Banking, Markets and Finance.

The jobholder will be expected to review and enhance cash, securities and Balance Sheet reconciliations, taking responsibility for ensuring the integrity of the figures we report to our various stakeholders. The jobholder will also need to gain an understanding of the way the Bank’s various accounting systems integrate into the Bank’s core reporting system.

Although the role is not a formal management one, the jobholder will be assisting the Manager to raise the level of accounting knowledge within the team, so that we can respond to changes in systems and product types. In addition, the jobholder will be responsible for managing changes to reconciliations as a result of projects/business change activities, to ensure they adhere to the defined best practice principles.

We are looking for candidates with a strong financial controls/accounting background - ideal for someone making a first move from a firm of accountants (Top4/Mid Tier) or for someone that has developed and progressed consistently with a financial services firm.
