Risk and Control Assessment Manager

Our client, a global leading banking and financial services institution, is looking to recruit a Risk and Control Assessment Manager. The role involves assisting with the implementation of the risk and control strategy across the business.

The role requires the candidate to conduct a thorough and comprehensive review of the risk and key controls within the business area under review. Controls need to classified, assessed for effectiveness and any monitoring identified. If action is required to improve the control environment then this needs to be captured. The residual risk exposure on both a typical and extreme manifestation needs to be captured.

The candidate will require a good understanding of risk and control principles, excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across the areas under review and with key stakeholders within the business.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

· Facilitating Risk and Control Assessments (RCAs) which identify the key risks, their impact and the relevant controls
· Managing Operational Risk within the 1st of defence and obtaining appropriate management buy in where necessary
· Challenging local senior management when good business risk management is not evident
