Senior Compliance Advisor
VP Level Senior Compliance Advisor/MLRO required for Jersey arm of Global Investment Bank
Role Duties:
* Based in Jersey, this role involves providing Compliance coverage for the Bank's Asset Wealth Management Division and the Corporate and Alternative Funds Services Divisions reporting directly to the Bank's Head of Compliance.
* Providing compliance advisory services to staff and Management across these business divisions as required;
* Developing effective consultative partnerships with the Heads of Business, Channel Islands Management and Group colleagues;
* Ensuring appropriate monitoring of operational performance and promptly instigating action to remedy any deficiencies in such arrangements;
* Developing an effective relationship with the Jersey Financial Services Commission and the Joint Financial Crimes Unit;
* Taking ownership of all Regulatory examinations and inspections of the various business areas;
* Identifying and advising on regulatory developments and initiatives that may impact the Channel Islands businesses;
* Overseeing the Compliance Monitoring Plan to ensure that tests are performed within the required timescales and that issues are escalated accordingly;
* Ensuring that Group Reporting deadlines are met;
* Identify business improvements within Compliance and its interfaces with the businesses;
* Participating on behalf of Compliance at Board and project meetings and ensuring the effective communication of issues raised to the Channel Islands Compliance Team;
* Compliance review and approval of any investment products and services and marketing documents to be utilised by the Channel Islands businesses; and
* Developing training where appropriate and working with the business to ensure that Key Operating manuals are maintained.
Skill Set Required:
* Proven financial services compliance background;
* Generalist compliance experience;
* An understanding of a wealth management business, which includes banking, custody, trusts and funds;
* Demonstrate experience of value add to organisations through the identification of process gaps and improvement of processes/controls;
* Analytical ability;
* Strong interpersonally;
* Solid teamwork, communication, presentation and influencing skills.
