Senior Credit analyst/Assistant PM (Financials)
A leading credit hedge fund domiciled in New York City is looking to open a London office in Mayfair in September. They will be interviewing for a senior credit analyst to join one of their top Portfolio Managers in their new European base. The analyst would also be responsible for directly assisting the portfolio managers in the US with respect to the European financial sector. The senior analyst analyst responsibilities will include analyzing and assessing investment opportunities in the European financial sector, with a specific focus on Tier 1 hybrids and other debt instruments issued by European banks. Senior analyst will also be expected to have exposure to European structured products (primarily RMBS) and have some competency in assessing those asset classes if necessary. Responsibilities will also include attending conferences, interfacing with bank issuers and interacting on an occasional basis with clients. In addition to identifying and analyzing new potential investments, the analyst will also be expected to monitor and update performance of existing portfolio, work with the trading desk, risk management and middle office.
The ideal candidate would preferably have:
- Experience on the sell side and buy side with a focus in financials and be willing to travel extensively if necessary.
- IMC-CFA qualification
- European market knowledge
- Ability to create investment decisions and work collaboratively with senior PMs.
- Inquisitive nature and professionalism
