Working directly with company management, AM helps stabilise financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital. AM's involvement reassures creditors that the company is taking important steps to address its problems and maximise its value.
Due to the on-going success of the practice, there is currently an opportunity for a Senior Director to join this expanding team in our Paris Office.

Whether providing advice on specific aspects of the turnaround process or stepping in as operating managers, Alvarez Marsal focuses senior resources at every stage of the process, forging consensus around credible, executable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with investors and clients as advisors or in interim management roles of Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer or Chief Restructuring Officer, the senior director leads clients through the full spectrum of complex issues that arise in restructurings, including valuation analysis, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, creditor negotiations, exchange offers and Chapter 11 reorganisations.
- Leading work streams, generating deal flow.
- Generating sustained repeat business, externally and internally.
- Practice and People development.
Professional Experience
Action-Orientated and High-Energy Business Leader with excellent financial skills and a track record of success in a turnaround environment as the CFO.
The Senior Director will:
- Demonstrate recent, relevant leadership experience in a bankruptcy or turnaround situation.
- Industry-savvy with connections and exposure to private equity, lending and legal communities, associated with restructuring and turnaround.
- Proven leadership and crisis management experience.
- Robust financial experience and analytical rigour.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and uncertain environment with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
- Confident conducting an initial rapid diagnostic into the company's: immediate and future cash needs, product profitability, cost base, major operational issues, market position and options for restructuring.
- Experience supporting PE firms, bank syndicates and hedge funds to ensure their portfolio companies have credible plans and the ability to execute and deliver the financial results required.
- Proven experience developing and implementing a new operating plan to restructure the business and improve operational performance.

Industry Experience
Industry leadership and expertise in one or more of the following:
Automotive, Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Energy, Transport and Aviation
Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting or business, or a similar discipline.
- Experience gained within the Big 4 in restructuring/corporate recovery or transactions and/or work outs, or insolvency.
- Fluency in one or more European languages desirable.
- French work permit or EU passport is essential.
