Senior Financial Strategist
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct client calls and develop solutions that meet the client’s investment goals with respect to balance sheet management interest rate risk.
- Perform quantitative analyses on clients' investment portfolios and balance sheets using a variety of sophisticated software and analytical techniques.
- Ability to manage the execution of client asset allocation via portfolio design, sector and relative value analysis, risk attribution, securities selection, and trade execution.
- Optimize portfolios by balancing total return objectives within institutional constraints.
- Daily tracking of trends and forecasts in financial markets, economy, yield curve and Federal Reserve policy.
- Continuously assess bond market opportunities and make recommendations on bond trading and general balance sheet strategies.
- Perform and deliver monthly/quarterly investment portfolio reviews and ALM modeling result reviews.
- Assist sales brokers with conference calls to develop and strengthen client relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Accounting is required. MBA or CFA is a plus.
- Series 7 and 63 are required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in fixed income within a highly analytical and strategic financial services environment, specifically dealing with institutional accounts.
- Strong financial market knowledge in the following bond sectors: Treasuries; Agencies; Mortgage-Backed Securities; Collateralized Mortgage Obligations; Corporate Debt; Municipal Debt; Certificates of Deposits.
- Strong skills in financial research and producing and maintaining quantitative financial spreadsheets and models.
- Competency in applying mathematical skills and calculations to varied scenarios. Bond math skills and a strong attention to detail are required.
- Demonstrated ability to break down complex financial strategies, analytics and materials into easy to understand business concepts.
- Working knowledge of balance sheets and income statements; accounting experience helpful.
- Ability to speak convincingly and effectively before clients, or with high-level employees, committees, or boards of institutional organizations.
- Ability to work independently and have responsibility for client deliverables.
- Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills in this client-facing role.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg and MS Office products including Word and PowerPoint, with an expertise in Excel. A working knowledge of CMS Bondedge is helpful.
- Up to 40% travel to client meetings and tradeshows is required.
