This is an exciting role within the Corporate Credit Risk team within the Wholesale Credit Risk Department is primarily involved with the analysis and credit rating of UK multinational and UK corporate clients.
The Corporate Credit Risk team is instrumental in transmitting and implementing the local and the group best practices, credit policies, procedures and risk appetite within the Global Banking Model in UK.

As a Corporate Senior Risk Manager -your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- A good working knowledge of typical corporate banking suite of products such as bilateral/syndicated facilities, treasury products including familiarity with covenant (setting and monitoring), security, documentation (ISDAs) and facility structuring etc;
- Previous experience of working with a portfolio of UK multinational and UK corporates
- Experience of successfully managing and delivering through a team of analysts within a risk department.
- Broad and deep knowledge of Risk area and industry practice
- A sound understanding of financial forecasting methodology and credit rating interpretation.
- Good education record, preferably degree or equivalent professional qualification;
- Clear and articulate communication of credit decisions with an ability to justify such if challenged (whether by Front Office or Senior Management) with sound reasoning.
- Spanish language skills (written and spoken) are desirable
As a Corporate Senior Risk Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
- Support the Head of team with day to day management of the team and issues that may arise. The Senior Manager will be managing projects and/ or a team with large degree of autonomy. It requires challenging as well as enabling the business through stakeholder management.
- Provide support and guidance to the other team members during the analysis and risk process. Display commitment and strong work ethic to the team.
- Act as a key contact with our colleagues from Head Office. Ensure coordination during the risk process with all the relevant areas: Risk UK, Head Office, and Front office.
- Provide independent and robust recommendation to the Senior Management/Committees about potential transactions. When applicable, attend as a senior presenter to the relevant committees both in the UK and in Madrid
- Consistently demonstrate effective time management, continually prioritising meeting deadlines.
- Monitor progress against plan with rest of team, flagging missed milestones and development dependencies that are contributing to delays to the Manager
- Take a proactive role in managing the ongoing credit quality of the portfolio. When required deputise for the Head of Department.
- Responsible for ensuring that the designated portfolio of clients is closely monitored and give early advise of any risk concerns, taking suitable action (i.e. adding to watch list)
- Ensure that changes to regulatory landscape are incorporated into activities.
- Assist Managers in preparing communications and materials for external regulators.
Location: London
Salary: Up to £100,000 + £6,000 car allowance
