Senior Researcher/ Engineer- Team Leader- Mathematician- Global Asset Manager- $350K++ recruitment

Background

The firm is one of longest standing asset management firms in the US and are considered to be a leading player within the equity and derivatives quantitative trading market. Having recently hired many mid to junior level candidates within a development capacity they are now seeking a senior researcher/ engineer to play a role in not only leading the team but expanding the research and technology platform at the firm for many years to come. The candidate must have a PhD in maths as the role requires mathematical modelling and building statistically based applications.

You will be working closely with the researchers and developers in developing the algorithms that go into quantitative trading strategies. In addition you will play a major role in engineering and developing the applications behind trading whilst being at the forefront of the technological advancements at the firm for the foreseeable future. Ideally you will have 4+ years commercial experience within a technical/ software engineering role being exposed to multi-thread programming, object orientated code (C, C++) and have exposure to Linux/ UNIX environments. Most importantly you must have a PhD in mathematics and have prior exposure to Bayesian techniques, Monte Carlo Simulations and stochastic processes. A mathematician who happened to become a software engineer and is now looking to utilise both skill sets is desirable.

Profile

• A PhD in maths/ statistics from a well established institution

• 4+ years within a development. Software engineering role

• Strong C/C++ skills and exposure to Linux, UNIX environments.

• Additional experience across Matlab, SAS or Gauss is a plus.
