Senior Soft”s (Coffee / Cocoa) Commodity Proprietary Trader
Senior Soft Commodity Prop Trader, Soft commodities, (Coffee / Cocoa), physical derivatives trading, SE Asia focus, Location; Asia - Singapore:
We are currently working with a substantial Agricultural + Soft commodities Fund, based in Singapore, who are seeking a self-motivated soft’s trader (coffee / cocoa) trader to join their operations in Singapore. The candidate would be responsible for initiating the proprietary trading strategies for the company and driving the business forward with a focus on South East Asia. The candidate should have a good knowledge of this market and should have some key experience in the following;
• Soft Commodity Prop Trader – Coffee / Cocoa
• Work closely alongside the Head of the Trading team
• Have 8-10 years of trading (physicals and futures) experience, significant
portion of which should be with the soft’s like coffee / cocoa. (preferably with top trading house and / or a commodity hedge fund)
• Exposure to risk management – must demonstrate have managed risk.
• Proprietary trading with outright positions relative value spreads in various Futures exchanges.
• Trading Volatility and calendar spreads.
• Hedging of soft commodities (Coffee, Cocoa, Sugar) and products derivatives for physical pipeline
• Strong Physical / Derivatives Commodity Knowledge in the Soft’s Industry (preferably with top trading house and / or a commodity hedge fund)
• Position taking – futures, options
• 3-4 years experience running a prop book.
• Have very good knowledge insights into the Soft’s (coffee / cocoa) industry and its supply and demand dynamics.
• Preferably have a basic understanding of statistics.
• Be willing to be based in Singapore
• Be prepared for travelling to drive business forward.
• Must Speak English
The candidate shall be:
• Responsible for Managing the coffee cocoa books with the Agri commodity fund.
• Responsible for refining / further developing on the existing price forecasting models for the soft commodity product complex.
• Develop models / trading strategies for spread trading.
• Running SnD balances for the complex
• Monitor closely daily market activity and developments in the market.
• Part of the team for developing investment strategies across all agri commodities.
