Sr. Staff Engineer - FM Global - Job location in Norwood, MA M/F 40hrs/wk. MS degree req. Perform projects and develop new standards, policies, procedures or business applications that are aligned with corporate goals and engineering's core values and commitment; champion engineering procedures, policies, products and systems and work to develop a full understanding and support within the company; achieve the objectives of assigned projects by researching, collecting, documenting, verifying, consolidating, analyzing data in addition to proposing and developing procedures, processes, technology, and tools which meet those objectives; improve the knowledge and skills of field and account engineers in identifying and communicating hazards by developing and implementing procedures for engineering evaluation, assessment and solutions through process, procedure and technology improvement; resolve and bring clarity to complex questions or concerns or perceived discrepancies about standards, policies, procedures, processes or business applications from field and account engineers or other segments of FM Global such as underwriting or IS within established policy; prepare field and account engineers to use new standards, procedures, process, tools, systems, and technology by developing job aids, conducting or coordinating training, writing procedures or coordinating hardware/software needs leading to project success by tracking and resolving problems, auditing (including devising, recommending and implementing new ways to audit operation processes and management procedures) and publishing progress reports or recommending further actions; and contribute to the success of staff engineering in supporting field and account engineering by providing assistance/support when needed to any staff engineering project.
