Senior Technical Writer
Thomson Reuters is looking for a senior technical writer to work in a software development environment and take charge of producing the online help system for its premier desktop solution: Thomson Reuters Eikon.
Working to a house style and aiming for the highest quality standards, you will be responsible for producing a wide range of deliverables, while liaising with teams across Europe, Asia, and N. America, and applying established publishing processes and procedures.
- Consult with product and development teams to gather information, identify and scope documentation requirements, and determine deadlines
- Report on documentation progress using company project tracking tools such as SharePoint and Jira
- Communicate regularly and as needed with development, product management, and quality assurance teams to facilitate progress
- Conduct user task analysis
- Write, review, and edit end-user documentation
- Develop online help systems
- Review user interface labels to enhance user experience and ensure adherence to guidelines
- Contribute to in-house editorial guidelines and procedures
- Some travel may be required for this position.

Skills
Undergraduate or Master's degree in Finance
- A good knowledge of financial markets and instruments in one or more of the following asset classes: bonds, shares, money market, exchange derivative prices
- Excellent writing and editorial skills, possibly with a background in training
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to work in a team, as well as being quality-oriented, user-focused, and committed to meeting deadlines
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Strong ability to plan and track projects and good reporting skills
- Minimum three to five years experience developing end-user documentation in a software development environment
- Experience using the Information Mapping methodology or other information design principles
- Proven proficiency with FrameMaker or a component content management system
- Knowledge of screen capture and image editing applications
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
