The Tiwi Islands are located 80 km north of Darwin in the beautiful Arafura Sea. There are two islands, Bathurst Island and Melville Island with a total land mass of 8320 sq km.

SPORT AND RECREATION MANAGER
Local Government Industry Award 2010 – Level 10 $70,936.54
Reporting to the Manager of Community Services, the position is responsible for supporting community health and well being through the efficient and effective provision of and maximum access to sport, leisure, recreation and after school programs on the Tiwi Islands.
Applicants must have good organisation and communication skills to enable management of Programs and Services and staff, as well as mentoring and training of Sport and Recreation Co-ordinators and Officers. The position is also responsible for planning activities and services within the context of the Council’s Strategic Plan, and encouraging employment and involvement of local Aboriginal people in all facets of the program/service activities.
