Sr Engineer Documentation Control Job in Wallingford 06492, Connecticut US
Maintain and/or develop all documentation and release materials for all VBrick products. Requires a high degree of attention to detail, engineering skill and independent judgment. The position reports to the Vice President of Operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage and facilitate the creation of:
- Engineering Change Order (ECO)
- Request for Change (RFC)
- Product Deviation Request (PDR)
- Part Number Request (PNR)
- Bills of Material (BOM)
- Transfer Bill-of-Materials information from Software and Hardware Engineering to Production;
- Enter data or verify that data has been entered correctly into PLM system (OMNIFY) and MRP system (FOURTH SHIFT) and provide verification and feedback to Engineering;
- Develop efficient BOM structures based on manufacturing requirements and future product relationships;
- Chair weekly meetings to communicate product releases and changes;
- Educate and train engineers and technicians regarding documentation requirements;
- May assist in the documentation of the manufacturing work processes;
- Some light mechanical design work – Solidworks for Mechanical design and Adobe Illustrator for graphic design;
- Will work on other operations projects as assigned by the VP Operations.
Requirements:
- Five years experience managing documentation control processes in an electromechanical manufacturing environment.
- Experience with MRP and PLM (preferably Fourth Shift and Omnify) and production database use necessary.
BSME or equivalent plus 7 – 10 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within the electronics/telecommunications industry
