Sr. Sales Assistant, Fixed Income

About the Business
Sr. Sales Assistants are focused on client service, and are responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all trades conducted by Fixed Income traders settle smoothly, and keeping track of failed trades so that they can settle in a timely manner. Sales Assistants also complete account maintenance work, including opening new accounts, updating account information and following up on required documentation.
About the Job
- Ensures that all Fixed Income trades settle smoothly
- Keeps confirms for each sales person
- Ensures they are correct before the settlement date
- Checks trades daily to make sure they settle
- Contacts clients on the same day of trade by 2:00 pm if they are failing to deliver
- Keeps track of failed trades and works to get them settled in a timely manner
- Works with clients and back office on trade problems (DK¿s (Don¿t Knows), money differences, etc.)
- Notifies clients of good fails
- Maintains client accounts
- Opens new accounts on SIS (back office system)
- Sets up accounts on Bloomberg
- Follows up on paperwork if notified by New Accounts Department
- Updates account information when notified by client
- Keeps money manager information current in files, on SIS and on Bloomberg set-up
- Keeps up with Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Dynamically Asked Risk Questions (DARQ) requirements and procedures from Internal Compliance
- Assists sales team with administrative tasks
- Helps with bids, offers or orders via phone or Bloomberg when salespeople are away
- Processes requests for letters, sending out information
- Makes travel arrangements
- Completes expense reports
- Monitors commissions
- Provides customer service
- Answers phones
- Processes client requests for information: confirms, annual reports, prospectuses, etc.
- Enters trades in various systems like Bloomberg
Required Qualifications
- Works well in team environment
- Must be in the office by 8:00am and work until 5:00pm EST
- Series 7, 63 licensed
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
