Engineer, Senior Test   

Reports to:

This position is responsible for forensic engineering and special engineering projects and long term testing and development assignments that require direct engineering involvement and developed skill set.

Major Functions:

1.      Lead the development and execution of quality test plans for complex, networked systems which may include hardware, embedded firmware and application software.  Plans include functional, performance, robustness, reliability, usability, EMC and regulatory compliance testing. Emphasis on automated testing.

2.      Develop testing tools and systems using a programming language and/or test development tools such as Labview, PC, C++, etc. 

3.      Perform specialized and long-term testing and research projects.

4.      Provide litigation support in the form of evidence analysis and “cause and effect” testing of exemplar devices.

5.      Perform safety inspections and testing on Company merchandise displays.

6.      Lead the development of internal ISO quality control procedures.

7.      Provide instruction to test technicians in proper test procedure development, execution and safety.

8.      Define and develop automated test tools, plans and cases. Design and construction of specialized test fixtures. Select and procure test equipment and supplies.

9.      Lead product test review meetings demonstrating product quality and maturity.

10.   Mentor junior test engineers and technicians.

11.   Contribute to performance reviews of junior test engineers and technicians.

12.   Lead the development of manufacturing test procedures, training manufacturing staff in the execution thereof and assist in troubleshooting manufacturing test issues.

13.   Assist Test Lab supervisor and management as required.

 

 

Education Experience:

·        A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (electrical or mechanical) or Physics.

·        Minimum 8 years RD test development experience is required.

·        Minimum 2 years test lead and/or supervisory experience in a lab/test environment is typically required.

·        EMC test experience is typically required.

·        Proven experience automating testing for firmware and hardware systems is required.

·        Firmware test and bug tracking experience is required.

·        QA knowledge and experience is typically required.

·        Experience in manufacturing test procedure development and implementation is typically required.

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential in the optimum performance of this position.
