Overview:
The individual in this role will develop new investment products in connection with SSgA's Exchange Traded Fund's business. This role requires understanding the product needs, conducting initial analysis, developing business cases, and design product features.As necessary, develop and manage new product relationships with various third party providers, stock exchanges, participating dealers, and other external parties associated with SSgA ETF products; and coordination with business leadership, sales, investment and other team members within Global Product and Marketing.
Key responsibilities:
- Drives product design and development of SSgA's ETF offerings for client channels and product types that supports business objectives and delivers new products to execute against plan.
- Drives stakeholder and organizational alignment to reach agreement on product priorities, business strategy, and trade-off decisions by providing critical business direction, guidance and decision making.
- Addresses risks associated with potential new products to ensure adequate review of business risks and appropriate corporate governance procedures.
- Analyzes business intelligence, including client feedback, market research, competitive information and business metrics to identify trends, develop actionable business insights and spot product opportunities for the organization.
- Handles multiple product development and research projects simultaneously from conception through implementation. Coordinates, prioritizes, and actively manages tasks as needed to meet project timelines.
- Undergraduate Degree in Business, Finance, or related field required. MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Five years of Product Development experience or related experience in mutual fund or brokerage industry.
- Outstanding problem solving and troubleshooting skills including a proven ability to independently analyze a challenge or problem, identify viable alternatives and recommend solutions.
- Experience providing business direction and product leadership with at least five or more year's product development experience with mutual funds or ETFs.
- Highly skilled at working cross-functionally with investment, sales, operations, marketing and product teams to create, implement and evolve tangible product offerings leading to measureable business results.
- Highly developed multi-tasking and prioritization skills, results-oriented with a strong self-motivation to move quickly to address opportunities thoroughly while meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and organization skills, including a highly developed ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into key insights and opportunities.
- Developed communication and presentation skills with a ability to effectively present complex concepts to leadership teams in a compelling, persuasive, fact-based manner.
