Technical Accountant – Solvency 2 recruitment

Our Regulation Financial Reporting is responsible for the implementation of new prudential and accounting policy with reference to capital and liquidity management, re-definition of finance operating models and the subsequent embedding of new reporting regimes arising from Solvency 2, Basel III and IFRS

As a Senior Manager, you will work with our clients to understand the impacts of the new financial reporting requirements and templates (QRTs, IFRS 4) under Solvency 2 on firm’s operational infrastructure, balance sheets and reporting tools strategies;

 Core Deliverables

-       Providing subject matter expertise in Solvency II financial requirements to BAU Finance teams, and other Solvency II workstreams, and senior management;

-       Taking a lead role in the sourcing of Finance data for capital modelling purposes (both internal model and standard formula). This involves understanding the data requirements from the capital modelling teams, specifying the requirements for the Finance teams to deliver, identifying gaps in data requirements, and agreeing alternative data solutions with the capital modelling teams where gaps are identified;

-       Enhancing the Solvency II Finance processes (data sourcing, economic balance sheet production, consolidation, analysis, reporting)

-       Embedding Solvency II Finance processes within BAU Finance in the lead up to Solvency II Go-Live;

 Experience Qualifications Required

-         Qualified Accountant or Actuary;

-         Strong general insurance / Lloyds Market background, with experience in financial reporting, modelling and capital management;

-         Excellent financial analysis and financial modelling skills;

-         Strong ability to understand new legislation/concepts and deliver efficient workable solutions;
