Technical Delivery Manager / Development Manager recruitment

Client Data IT is responsible for sourcing, mastering, and distribution of client and account data, including on-boarding, client review, KYC and account opening for the Investment Bank.
The Delivery Manager role will report to the Global Head of Client Data IT and will be responsible for managing development teams consisting of UBS permanent, Contract and Outsource / Offshore Vendor resources for the end to end delivery of projects to meet the needs of business users such as Risk, Finance, Operations and Compliance.
Core Responsibilities
• End to end responsibility for the development team and delivery of projects to production across the whole SDLC
• Day to Day Technical Management of the development teams both onsite and offshore vendor
• Primary Interface to the Business Analysis team and other key stakeholders
• Primary Interface to other Technical Functions that are dependencies for the deliveries
• Responsible for code quality across all development streams including static code analysis and code coverage
• Working with the CTO Function to ensure solutions are architecture compliant
• Working with the Global Service Delivery (GSD) Teams to ensure solutions meet supportability criteria and are robust and performant when released
• Responsible for Project Management including working with the QA teams to ensure applications are thoroughly tested before deployment (all test levels).
• Budget management and financial modelling of the team for budget approval and monthly tracking
• Articulating the technical solutions to a non-technical audience
• Responsible for driving forward our technical architecture and drive towards technical excellence working with senior team leads
• Other ad-hoc administration tasks attributed with Technical Application Ownership such as auditing, healthchecks
• Mentor and develop internal staff within Consumer Service team globally
• Contributing to and driving forward the strategy in the Client Reference Data Space
Requirements
You will have a proven track record of developing robust enterprise scale applications within a financial institution preferably
Delivery Management Experience of Medium to Large Projects with a budget in excess of $1m
Experience building GUI based application in Java / J2EE Experience of TDD or BDD, Specification by example, Automation of business requirements
• Experience in 4 or more of the following technologies is highly desirable:
Spring, Struts, GWT, Hibernate, AJAX, Maven, Ilog Jrules (or other rules engine), Fujitsu iBPM (or other rules engine), SVN Source Code Control.
• Strong Database Experience – Oracle 10g/11g
• Client facing experience – Creating and delivering presentations to articulate vision
• Ability to ‘own’ and manage significant development projects end to end
• Credibility, leadership and strong communication skills
• Knowledge of all elements of IT development and project lifecycles – from project planning and requirements gathering, through all aspects of development, to the ongoing support of the production application
• Experience managing Outsource and Offshore Development Teams
• Experience of Agile Development Practices
• Experience of software methodologies
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to understand the various regulatory and compliance agencies that the Investment Bank must satisfy, along with regulations such as Money Laundering, Dodd/Frank, etc
