They are looking to interview people asap and this is an important hire for them. The title for this role will be a quant analyst and the role will report to the head of quant research.
Requirements:-
The firm has a very selective recruitment process.
The ideal candidate will have graduated with a PhD in a quantitative subject ( ideally Mathematics, Computer Science) from a highly prestigious academic institution with superior grades in a technical subject.
The ability to bring clarity to complicated ideas and effectively communicate to a non-mathematical audience is essential. You should have a strong theoretical grasp of derivative theory.
From a mathematical finance perspective you should have a strong understanding of the Martingale Representation Theorem, Lévy's characterisation of Brownian motion, Girsanov's Theorem and Brownian Bridges.
You should be able to demonstrate a very keen interest in Finance ( general reading of Hull/ Wilmott).
You must have a strong background in numerical methods.
Very strong programming skills in C++, windows, linux and a very good knowledge / understanding of computing.
This is not a role for a candidate who does not feel comfortable programming and using programming languages as a tool to get research done.
The role is in between a quant analyst and a quant developer. There will be a combination of quant/ IT work.
An ideal candidate is a quant with very strong IT skills or a developer with strong quant skills.
They will consider quant developers with 2-3 years experience and willing to make a medium term move to more quantitative work.
