Position Purpose
The Trade Product Manager has an end-to-end end responsibility for the Product Management of Trade product offerings and initiative and the country/region including: product strategy, product life-cycle management, product definition, product development, launch and commercialisation while ensuring that these are aligned with the Group's strategic imperatives.
Product Strategy
- Obtain widespread input (internal, customer market research based) into the regional product strategy. Actively contribute as a member of the trade team by participating in the setting of and supporting Trade strategies and targets.
- Ensure the development communication of a clear regional product strategy and value proposition for trade products,
- Review and benchmark product solutions to ensure gaps are recognised and are being addressed. Establish and manage Trade product priorities campaigns. Work closely with Coverage Heads, Client Delivery, Legal, Compliance, Credit, Operations and Technology as well as Regional Product in executing business growth and trade strategy.
- Develop standard product target market and pricing policies
- Understand intimately the evolving banking needs of our clients and package services to meet those needs
Product Development – Establish product development enhancement initiatives in the region, particularly with respect to:
- Business case development
- Business requirement definition
- Risk assessment mitigation
- Legal documentation
- Product collateral
- Manage NPAP submissions and approvals for new products / processes
- Work collaboratively with other areas to ensure smooth introduction of new and changed products.
- Review and make recommendations regarding suggested customised solutions. Implement agreed developments.
Financial
- Monitor Trade product profit and loss
- Set financial targets for the trade products range and request funding for regional initiatives.
- Achieve and exceed trade product financial targets.
- Ensure that development projects are delivered on time and within budgetary allocations.
- Improve levels of customer numbers/transactions delivered by electronic methods.
- Monitor, review and recommend improvements to business performance via the production and analysis of qualitative management information.
- Will be responsible for expense management for Trade Services products and maintaining good controls for the business.
