Summary:
Reporting directly to the Senior Director Global Head Treasury Operations, the successful candidate will manage and control all day-to-day Treasury Operations of a large diversified book. The role includes the analysis of a variety of Treasury related data and preparation of reports and ability to react to that data. You must be project oriented, be able to take on various ad hoc tasks but also enable the department to adapt to ever changing business and market requirements. You will have extensive contact with Senior Management, Front Office, Back Office and our correspondent banking network.
Candidates for this position should hold the following qualifications and be able to demonstrate the following abilities to be considered as a suitable applicant. Please note that except where specified as preferred all points listed below are considered minimum requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Regional Cash Collateral optimisation, reduction of operational bank accounts, understanding of underlying Market legislation and Segregation requirements, SWIFT operational expert, liaison with Senior Management.
- Funding, Investments, Financing, Transaction, Bank accounts, Network, Unadvised Credits, Fails, SWIFT Anti Money Laundering using firm purchased software
- Analysis: Cash Flow, Depositary Balances, Collateral Flow, Banking Relationships and Global regulations
- List duties and manage daily tasks/routine to high standard of internal control
- Approve and exercise authority over disbursements in line with MCO and banking limits
- Ensure timely, complete and accurate processing and reporting
- Encourage and promote best practice, motivate build a strong team, this area has direct impact on customer relations and the P L bottom line
- Develop enhanced reporting using the chosen Cash Management tools and other duties or projects, as assigned.
- Provide continual analysis of the performance of Cash Management systems being utilised
- Permanent Supervision in accordance with firm policy
- Authorisation of system access rights to cash movement systems for personnel in region
- Overview of Disaster recovery plan to ensure this is regularly updated and tested
- Appraisals Job descriptions / Recruitment and retention of key staff
- Participation in GT Workgroups and projects
- Attendance at external committees, workgroups and conferences as required
Operational Risk Regulatory Responsibility;
- Fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your business or other businesses for which you have any level of responsibility. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with operational risk requirements (e.g. Golden rules, security policies and regulatory requirements)
- Manage, control, prepare and escalate risk within the scope of your position
- Read, understand and comply with the Company’s Conduct and Standards and corresponding regulations. You will be notified of changes to policies in a timely manner through announcements and/or intranet updates
- Act with integrity and due skill, care and diligence in carrying out your duties. Your actions should always be able to satisfy high standards of scrutiny
- Observe proper standards of market conduct and to ensure that you take reasonable steps to be fully aware of, understand and comply with all regulatory requirements from all regulatory bodies that are applicable to your business
Requirements:
- Degree holder in Finance or related disciplines
- Minimum 10 years Treasury experience, of which, 7 years at management level gained from banks, financial institutions or sizable corporate is essential
- Good knowledge of structured products or derivatives
- General knowledge of Treasury, with a focus on the Derivatives, Futures Equities, Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income area
- Strong management and leadership skills are required
- Cash Management systems, KONDOR+, K+TP, GMI. Contemplating studying or partly passed ACT examinations and looking for progression.
- Proficient in PC applications such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English in both verbal and written
- An assertive personality, that is able to deliver according to tight deadlines in fast moving "broker" environment
