Wells Fargo has an opportunity available within its Economics Group. We are currently seeking to add to the Currency Strategy function, to support research and marketing activities of the Foreign Exchange group as well as the Securities group, covering institutional and corporate clients, and high net-worth individuals. The position will be located in New York, and will report to the Head of Currency Strategy. The chosen candidate will need to:
- Write daily and monthly commentaries on trends in major and/or selected emerging currencies.

Monitor G10 and emerging market currencies and regions, and provide periodic updates and presentations for the sales and trading teams, and their clients.

Chair, as required, conference calls on global trends for FX and other business lines.

Contribute to the official Wells Fargo FX forecasts on a regular basis.
This position is expected to be a customer facing role, including client meetings/presentations and potentially increasing media interaction over time; previous experience in these areas is preferable.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years research experience in the capital markets industry.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years experience as a currency strategist/economist in a role which includes authoring market commentaries and research. Knowledge of both G10 and emerging markets.
Preferred Skills
Our ideal candidate would have strong writing and presentation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Bachelors or Masters degree in economics or finance Series 7 63 a plus.
